Arcade styled games have been famous since long and the craze for the short skill based games under this genre has experiences a rejuvenation since the introduction of portable devices like smartphones and tablets for playing such games. The touch screen and g-sensors let the developers add more and more features to the game so that the games can be played by realistic tilt and touch movements rather than the conventional keypad controls and such features are not available even on modern game consoles and PC. Styx Mac v.1.3 is a game meant for iPhone which offers infinite gameplay and entertainment with its puzzles, so you don’t get bored while you are on-board on a long flight or transit.
Styx Mac v.1.3 has a portrait mode screen in which you will see a menu with tabs titles Start, Hall of Fame, Profiles, Options and Help. On the first look of a typical puzzle, it looks like another match3 game like bejeweled, but it goes way beyond that. You have to look for identical pieces in the puzzle board which are arranged adjacent to each other without any other piece in between. Once you seek out such a pattern, you just have to touch and drag a brightly lit line over the required tiles and see them vanishing off the screen. The target lies in eliminating maximum number of tiles in one go and new tiles keep on falling from top to fill in the empty spaces that are created by elimination of previous ones. The game offers three levels of difficulty and three game modes i.e. Normal, Time trial and Puzzle mode along with a vast set of levels which gives the player, a never ending entertainment.
To sum up, Styx Mac v.1.3 is an addictive game which is easy to learn but hard to master. You have a virtually never ending level progression and the game is many steps ahead of a myriad of match 3 games which distinguishes it from other. Hence it receives a score of four and a half rating points out of five.
